JSON to CSV Converter
Convert a JSON array of objects to CSV, flatten nested fields, choose a delimiter, and download a properly escaped file.
Processed locally. Nothing from the editor is stored.
How to use JSON to CSV
The converter builds one row per object. Nested objects become dotted columns such as role.team. Arrays become numbered columns such as tags.0. Cells that contain the delimiter, a quote, or a line break are quoted.
- Paste an array of objects, a single object, or an array of simple values.
- Choose a comma, semicolon, tab, or pipe delimiter. Turn flattening off to keep nested values as JSON strings.
- Check the preview, then download the CSV. The download includes a UTF-8 BOM so spreadsheet apps recognize Unicode.
Examples
Flatten a user list
[{"name":"Ada","role":{"team":"Tools"}}] becomes columns name and role.team.
Escape a comma inside a note
A notes value of a, "b" is written as "a, ""b""" so it stays one cell.
Questions
Can I convert CSV back to JSON?
This tool converts JSON to CSV only. The column order follows the first time each key appears.
Which delimiter should I use?
Comma is the usual choice. Semicolon is useful when the file will be opened in a locale that already uses commas as decimal marks.
