How to use JSON Schema
The document and the schema each have an editor. Validation uses Ajv with draft-07 and common formats such as email, uri, and date-time. A schema that fails to compile is reported separately from a document that fails validation.
- Paste the JSON document on the left and the schema on the right, or load an example.
- Choose Validate. Control+Enter or Command+Enter does the same.
- Read each instance path. An empty path is shown as / and refers to the whole document.
Examples
Require an email
A schema that requires email as a string with format email rejects nope and accepts ada@example.com.
Reject an extra field
With additionalProperties set to false, a property that is not listed is reported by name.

Which JSON Schema draft is this?
Draft-07, plus the formats registered by Ajv formats. If compilation fails, the error is the compiler message.
Does a valid result prove my API contract?
